Let's get started...

Now that you have a general understanding of Item Types, let's get a little hands on experience.

In the following scenarios, you will be presented with a series of example problems followed by step-by-step instructions for building solutions within the Idencia application.

Scenario 1: Create Stock Item Types that Represent Your Product Catalog

You work for a local Concrete Pipe manufacturer and have been tasked with implementing a new software called Idencia. Your first order of business is to set up the stock items types your company will be managing within the Idencia application. Your company's sales manager provided you with the following product catalog.

ProductCatalog2

The first order of business is to create a custom property for each piece of information you want to capture about your products. Based on the product catalog above, that would be Diameter, Wall Thickness, Gap, etc.

Your next Idencia 101 task will provide a brief overview of custom properties and their various types - text properties, numeric properties, and date properties.  Once you complete the overview, you will learn step-by-step, how to create custom properties for the product catalog above.
