Overview
Item types are categories of items. All items of a given item type will share that item type's properties. In many ways, your list of item types can be thought of as a product catalog. Your company can have both stock item types and custom item types defined for specific projects.
A concrete pipe manufacturer, for example, may have item types like:
- Item Type Number: 6.15.TG
- Name: 6'x15" Class I Tongue and Groove Reinforced Concrete Pipe
- Diameter: 15"
- Wall Thickness: 2.25"
- Gap: 0.25"
- Length: 6'
- Weight: 127 lb/ft
- Concrete Class: I
- Item Type Number: 3.36.TG
- Name: 8'x36" Class II Tongue and Groove Reinforced Concrete Pipe
- Diameter: 36"
- Wall Thickness: 2.00"
- Gap: 0.25"
- Length: 8'
- Weight: 524 lb/ft
